While we will do you the cortouesy of filing claims with any dental insurance plan you have that offers coverage, insurance coverage is unfortunately usually limited. Because of this, we have partnered with several different payment options to make treatment as affordable as possible. Visit the Financial page to learn about payment options.

All of our dentists have full prescribing privileges within their scope of care. However, Oregon Dental Board rules prohibit prescribing to someone who is not an existing patient. At the dentist’s discretion, they may prescribe medication after your initial visit based on the findings and diagnosis.

We make  appointments for new patients a priority, and can generally get patients into the office within a week for an initial consultation. Call us at (503) 234-7870 or email implants@rootsdental.com to check our current availibilty.

The limiting factor for the healing of dental implants is based on the amount of time it takes for the bone to heal around the dental implant. This can be as little as 3 months, or could take as long as 6 months based on the situation and the patient’s health and ability to heal. Most healthy patients will have their procedure completed start to finish in 4-6 months.

The cost of dental implants is highly variable from case to case. In Oregon, implant treatment cases start at around $5,000 but may cost up to $70,000 based on the whether it’s a single tooth or full mouth, if grafting or sinus lifting is involved, and a variety of other factors. The best way to figure out how much it will cost you is by coming in for a consultation visit with our friendly team. This low pressure appointment will allow us to explain your options with transparent fees so you can have the information you need.

Yes, we offer options from light sedation all the way to deep sedation, which is often described by patients as being “put to sleep”. We stongly recommend deep sedation for our more involved implant procedures or patients that are highly anxious. However, a few single implants on the average patient can be done comfortably with just local anesthetic (numbing of the  mouth)

We work very hard to ensure that our patients are completely numb and comfortable during the treatment procedure. However, afterwards, we do expect some degree of discomfort or pain as you begin to heal. This varies from patient to patient, so your individual experience will be unique. However, a single implant placement generally only results in mild pain which resolves over the course of a few days. If tooth extraction or bone grafting is involved, the swelling and pain will be increased. With our full mouth implant cases, we expect increased pain and swelling, but will work with you to provide adequate pain management through prescriptions and post treatment care instructions.

Although we know investing in your oral health is a great value, we also understand that treatment can get expensive. We work with several 3rd party financing groups to offer payment plan options. As part of your consultation visit, our implant advocate will review financing options with you of you’re interested.

We have lots of experience with dental implants, and do a lot of full arch implant procedures (all-on-4) compared to most offices. This gives us several advantages. By ordering implants and parts in large volume, we are able to receive discounts from the dental implant company, which we pass on to our patients. Additionally, investing in digital technology streamlines our process. Our experience and digital workflows allow us to get the desired outcomes in fewer and shorter visits compared to other offices with less technology and experience. Again, this allows us to charge our patients less. Make no mistake though, we don’t scrimp on quality. We use Neodent implants, which are known as one of the best implant systems on the market. Additionally, all of our smiles are crafted locally at a dental lab in Beaverton, OR using premium high end materials.

Yes! Because we use cutting edge digital workflows, both our temporary and final smiles are custom designed with CAD technology. Our clinical team will take a series of photos and digital scans of your mouth that will be uploaded to a digital dental lab we partner with. Using smile design software, your preliminary teeth will be designed based on your unique  facial features along with your input. During the healing period you will have the chance to decide what you want to keep or change. Before your finals are delivered you will have another opportunity to make changes to the shape and color of the teeth.

Proper post-op care is extremely important to ensure the best outcome possible. Our team will go over specifics and answer any questions you have in office before your surgery date. However, it can be hard to remember everything, and it is important to have something to reference when questions come up at home. Click here for detailed post-op instructions.
